Christmas Thanks!
Dear parents,
Ahead of our holidays, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family the very best for Christmas.
This year was the first year since 2019 when we were able to welcome parents back to school to join in our Christmas celebrations. It was also our first year to have Carol services in Castaheany Community Centre. We were delighted that so many parents were able to come to support their children in their performances- and the feedback from everyone was hugely positive.
I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the staff whom made each of the four services possible- it really was a team effort and would not have happened without everyone’s support.
Christmas Jumper Day
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
We raised a fantastic total of €1070 which will go directly to this very worthy cause!
Homework Pass Fundraiser
On behalf of the parents Association, I would like to thank everyone for supporting their Fundraiser by buying Homework Passes for your use in the past few weeks.
This raised a total of €1,252.00 which will go towards supporting Parent Association activities in the school.
Reindeer Food
A huge thank you to the children in the 5th class who were so busy preparing some “Magic Reindeer Food” for the school.
They raised a total of €825 for the St. Vincent de Paul. This is a fantastic achievement for a very worthy cause- well done to all in 5th class!!
String Orchestra Performance:
Tomorrow morning, the children in the Junior and Senior Schools will be treated to a musical celebration in the Junior School yard, where a string orchestra will perform Christmas favourites. Parents are welcome to join us at 11:50 ahead of collection time for some Christmas cheers.
Half Day on December 22nd:
A reminder that school closes for Christmas tomorrow, Wednesday, at 12pm for the Christmas break!!
A final word of thanks……
And finally can I thank you all for the continued support, kindness and generosity you have shown me personally and to all the staff of the school throughout the year.
This is hugely appreciated by us all. As I said last week at our Carol Services, Parents are the backbone of our school community, and we cannot do the work we do without your continued support!
It only remains for me to wish you and your families the very best for a happy and peaceful Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
Warmest regards,
Enda McGorman
